Bifest 99 press release version 1:

Bisexuals to Parade Through The Capital

They were the forgotten sexual minority, overlooked by Straight and Gay people alike. But now things are changing.

Bisexuality has become far more acceptable and talked about in recent years but many bisexual people do feel isolated and accepted by neither the Gay or Straight communities.

For the first time ever there will be a major parade of bisexual people and their allies through the streets of the Capital to celebrate their sexuality, cumulating in the first ever Bisexual Festival.

BiFest 99 will be a big festival for bisexual and bi friendly people to be held at the University of London Union on 13th February 1999.

There will be entertainment, music, fun and games, a commercial area, a disco and the chance for the bisexual person to meet other bi people in a friendly environment.

The organisers of the London BiFest hope that the event will be an inspiration to other groups around the country to organise their own regional events in future years.

BiFest 99 is being organised by the London Bisexual Group, at 17 years old one of the UK's longest established and successful bisexual community groups.

Please feel free to call me, Marc Turner, the BiFest 99 Press and Publicity Officer on 0956 896 589 or email LBF@biout.demon.co.uk.

Yours

Marc Turner Press and Publicity Officer London BiFest 99
